Serenity Sequel Now!

Dang it, I'm having serious withdrawals from this. We need a sequel to Serenity. Or better yet, resurrect the TV series. My wife has pledged that she would trade every show on TV for to get Firefly back. She usually hates sci-fi, but Firefly hooked her. She'll give up Grey's Anatomy, ER, Desperate Housewives, America's Next Top Model, and anything else I can't think of. I'll trade The Unit, the only show I watch.

Gimmie, gimmie. Do it now.

Firefly succeeded as it did because of superior acting and characterization, mated to plots and a setting that weren't hackneyed. But these are all things that tend to attenuate as a TV series continues. In a way, it might be a blessing that the show was canceled. The episodes that were made are golden, and will remain beloved for a long time to come.

I disagree. Many good shows don't hit their stride till the second season, and then they often hold it for another season or two. We surely could have gotten one more good season out of the deal, if not more. Argh. I even like some of the third season dreck from the original Star Trek. At least it's there.

Like "Spock's Brain"? A classic. Heh.

Anyway, I disagree, too. I think we could have gotten a few more good seasons out of Firefly before tired-crappiness set in.
