Quote of the Day
From Ebert's review of The Day the U.S. Failed to Elect Al Gore
Keanu Reeves is often low-key in his roles, but in this movie, his piano has no keys at all. He is so solemn, detached and uninvolved he makes Mr. Spock look like Hunter S. Thompson at closing time.

And here I thought that playing a robotic visitor from another planet would be the perfect role for Reeves.
In truth, I was excited to see the movie coming, until it became clear it was an "Earth First, you filthy apes!" movie.
I can see the alien planning session now:
"Earth is a mess, let's wipe out the humans!"
"Great plan, kill the only thinking species!"
"Wait, why don't we teach them? They could be good guardians of the precious, precious Earth!"
Unision : "Naaaah! We'll teach those bloody minded fools a lesson by killing them all!"
Hmm... so in other words, the aliens are exactly how Hollywood thinks of the Neocons. Invade a sovereign planet and wipe everyone out for their own good. Sounds like a plan I can get behind!
