I Hope He Knows the Riddle of Steel

Well, Crom. Extraordinary film composer Basil Poledouris has passed away at the age of 61. His score for one of my most beloved films, Conan the Barbarian, is absolute brilliance. Like John Williams' score for the Star Wars films, Poledouris' music was an essential component of Conan, and took the film from camp to classic. Poledouris also composed scores for several other well-known films, including Red Dawn, Robocop, Starship Troopers, Quigley Down Under, The Hunt for Red October, and Les Miserables. It's a sad loss for Hollywood and for all of us who enjoyed his full-blooded soundtracks.

See you in Valhalla, Basil.
