Punishment

Floyd R. Turbo at Rufus Vs. The Daily Headlines considers the topic of punishment. He's in favor of physical punishment for the lesser stuff and executions for the major stuff. I agree with him that the prison system is a miserable, dehumanizing failure. My religious sensibilities aren't inconsistent with the idea that it's less inhuman to inflict pain/humiliation or execute than to lock up like an animal. And I suspect that such a punishment scheme would have a significant impact on the criminal culture in this country, especially as concerns the younger criminal class.
